Within each United Methodist Church is a group of women organized for mission called the United Methodist Women. Local United Methodist Churches relate directly to the district and conference organization of United Methodist Women and to the Women's Division of the General Board of Global Ministries.
Over one million lay women have chose to be members of this special organization called the United Methodist Women! They are:

• Centered in relationship with God through Jesus Christ
• Focus on ministries with women, children, and youth.
• Involved in mission locally and globally.
• Committed to inclusiveness.
• Pledged to provide financial support for missions through undesignated giving.
• Engaged in the development, use of skills for service, leadership development, and personal growth.
• Encouraged to work with other organizations on issues of mutual concerns.

As members of the United Methodist Women, we are committed to the PURPOSE and chooses to participate in meetings, prayer, giving, study, and service. All women who desire to become members are welcome. The following is our PURPOSE statement:

"The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose PURPOSE is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church."

At the Chinese United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women have scheduled events monthly. The regular business meetings are held on the second Sunday of every other month following the Chinese Worship service. The remaining months include other activities such as attending school of mission, District and Conference meetings, training and retreats, hosting fund-raising luncheons, prepare for United Methodist Women Sunday, outings, and a year end Christmas party.  Come join us in fellowship of knowing God and one another.
