Children's
Choir
The
Chinatown Children's Choir was formed in the fall 1993 as an outreach
program of the Church. Its main goal is to nurture the musical talents
of children. Children learn about basic music theory, sight singing, rhythmic
instruments, and singing in This group also offers children the chance to learn about God and fellowship with one another. It is open to children ages 6 and above of all religious and ethnic backgrounds. Practices are held every Saturday afternoon from 2 to 3:30 pm at Church. We believe that learning musical instruments is essential to a better understanding of music. Therefore, we provide a mandatory recorder class for every member. At the same time adult activities and workshops on home economics, health, medicine, and automobile maintenance are provided to reach out to the parents of the children. We are recruiting new choir members in the summer and welcome new members. For information
and questions please call (213) 626-8570.Another fellowship group called
the Chinatown's Children's Choir Youth Fellowship was formed shortly after
this choir was established to nurture the members' spiritual growth. This
fellowship comprises choir members aged 13 and above and meets every first
Saturday of the month for an overnight mini outing at a home. Some of
the activities for this outing include Bible lesson, sharing and discussion,
group games, video, dinner, and crafts. |
